Frankie Jones "Guns Fever" é um digital roots sombrio e pesado, uma rara representação da música jamaicana dos anos 80, que atraiu igualmente quem gostava de Roots, e de Dancehall. Originalmente lançado em 1986 num 12’’ pelo selo Third World, o disco teve uma distribuição limitada e tornou-se uma música muito procurada por colecionadores e seletores sérios. 

Este  mês saiu pelo selo Pressure Sounds o reissue de "Gun Fever", e é a primeira vez que aparece em vinil novamente, dessa vez em 7’’ polegadas. Badboy tune !!!

Semana passada perdemos o grande produtor jamaicano Glen Brown, produtor, cantor e instrumentista, produziu alguns dos riddims mais pesados dos anos 70 (Dirty Harry, Forward The Good, Slaving, Youthman). A maioria dos fãs de reggae conhecem ele por suas produções nos anos 70, mas sua carreira começou no fim dos anos 60, e uma das minhas musicas favoritas dele é dessa fase, "Girl you're cold" em parceria com Hopeton Lewis. Rest in peace boss !!
